EA Sports is introducing a new era in FIFA soccer with FIFA 17. Lionel Messi had been dominating the cover since FIFA 13, and this year will be the first time he will step down for a younger and promising superstar. We are talking of none other than Marco Reus of Borussia Dortmund and the German national team.
This goes to show the new direction EA Sports is taking with the FIFA series, revolving around the new Active Intelligence System. This year will be the first time we will see a story mode called “The Journey” featuring fictional Alex Hunter trying to make his way up in the Barclays Premier League. The mode also features real life managers such as Pep Guardiola (Manchester City), Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool) and Jose Mourinho (Manchester United).
Marco Reus is one of the four ambassadors that were selected by EA Sports to appear on the cover of FIFA 17. The others include Eden Hazard, James Rodriguez, and Anthony Martial of Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Manchester United respectively. Marco Reus was voted by fans to be the global cover star of FIFA 17 and be the face of FIFA for a new generation.
Marco Reus is set to be a future icon and perhaps footballing legend, depending on how his career goes. He has been one of the best forwards to use in past FIFA titles thanks to his fierce pace and diversity as a striker and a winger. Let’s see how he brings Active Intelligence System to life when FIFA 17 releases on September 29 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It will also launch on the PS3 and Xbox 360, but those versions will not be including “The Journey.” It’s time to upgrade for a new generation of gaming and to experience the journey of Alex Hunter, as you want to see it!
