WHATSAPP ROLLS OUT NEW UPDATED VERSION

CHECK OUT THE NEW WHATSAPP EMOJI'S

WhatsApp has rolled out a brand new set of emoji to some users.

This is the first time the messaging app has designed its own. Until now, it had used Apple’s emoji on both Android and iOS versions of the app.

WhatsApp’s redesigned emoji have, however, clearly been inspired by Apple’s.

On the whole, WhatsApp’s versions look slightly bolder and more cartoonish, but in most cases, the differences between them are minimal.

WhatsApp is building an all-new version of its popular messaging app.

The dramatically different app will be designed from the ground-up to enable customers and companies to communicate.

Dubbed WhatsApp Business, the new service will allow Facebook, which owns WhatsApp, to monetise the hugely-successful messenger.

WhatsApp COO Matt Idema talked about WhatsApp Business to Fox earlier this year.

Idema said: “We want to put a basic foundation in place to allow people to message businesses and for them to get the responses that they want.

“We do intend on charging businesses in the future.”

An early version of the service has been made available to testers, although there is no official launch date for the general public.

Technology blog Android Police has trawled through the latest beta version and highlighted a number of new features coming to WhatsApp Business.

WhatsApp will support landline numbers for the first time with WhatsApp Business.

Issues with the app, which is used by 1 billion people worldwide, included sending and receiving messages and logging in.

ICYMI - WHATSAPP NEW UPDATE

HEY GUYS AM BACK WITH NEWS FROM THE MOST LOVED CHAT APP - CHECK IT OUT

WhatsApp has launched a new feature that lets you prioritise certain conversations over others.

As its name suggests, pinned chats lets you pin up to three contacts and groups to the top of your WhatsApp conversation list.
That also makes it easier to ignore notifications from the conversations that you aren’t especially interested in, no matter how active they get.

WhatsApp's existing mute feature is handy, but only fixes part of the problem.

Review for the day - JBL Pulse 3

JBL UNVEILS THE PULSE 3 SPEAKER— CONNECTS UP TO 100 SPEAKERS AT A TIME

A problem I ran into with the UE Booms was that you could only ever connect two speakers at a time. This doesn’t allow you to have a true party experience. But what if you could theoretically connect up to 100 speakers at a time and play the same song through all of them? Even better, what if it lit up? That’s exactly what the Pulse 3 is.

JBL unveiled their new line of speakers at CES 2017 and each of them looks fantastic. The focus with the Pulse 3s was that if you play music, you want it to look pretty. Well, the Pulse 3s do, in fact, look pretty. You can fully customize the light show experience through the JBL Connect+ app. The light show does light up to the beat of the song, adding a nicer and more natural light show experience. Personally, I think the LED’s in the Pulse 3’s look really cool.

Nokia releases an Android smartphone...

The once-iconic brand is taking a bold step to regaining fame with a new android smartphone for China only

Remember Nokia? It's back! Again. Well, sort of.

HMD, the company which last year bought the rights to sell Nokia phones, announced on Sunday the Nokia 6. It's a stylish, inexpensive Android smartphone -- but it's exclusive to China.

The 5.5-inch phone comes with a 1,920x1080-pixel resolution, a Snapdragon 430 processor, a 16MP camera on the back, an 8MP shooter on the front and 4GB of RAM. That's all housed in an aluminum body, rare for non-premium phones and especially impressive considering the Nokia 6 will sell for 1,700 yuan, which converts to $245, £200 and AU$330.

Yahoo will adopt a new corporate identity and slash the size of its board if the proposed $4.8 billion sale of its digital services to Verizon Communications goes through. The company plans to change its name to Altaba Inc after it turns over its email, websites, mobile apps and advertising tools to Verizon. The new name is meant to reflect Yahoo’s transformation into a holding company for investments in China’s e-commerce leader, Alibaba Group, and Yahoo Japan that are worth about more than $40 billion combined.

Apple iPhone Turns 10 Today

SAN FRANCISCO — Steve Jobs proudly offered one of the first iPhones backstage, beaming as he asked for feedback on Apple's groundbreaking smartphone.

It was a decade ago today, at the Moscone Centerhere, and Apple's iconic co-founder had a hunch it was about to change computing as we know it. In a sit-down interview with USA TODAY, Jobs made a convincing case, demonstrating how iPhone users could make calls while viewing content on the Web and exchanging e-mail — all at the same time.

"This is a revolutionary product that has the chance to really impact people's lives," Jobs told me, comparing the iPhone to the original Macintosh and iPod. "This is the ultimate digital device."
